Kitchen renovation in Alicante with one fixed quote

Many kitchens on the coast were fitted when the property was built and never updated. In older flats in Ensanche-Diputación, Carolinas or Benalúa the kitchen is often a narrow closed room with a galería behind it. In apartments around Playa de San Juan or Cabo de las Huertas and in villas in the urbanisations, owners usually want the opposite: an open-plan kitchen with an island that connects to the living room and terrace.

What is included

Your quote lists every item, but a typical kitchen renovation includes:

  • Removal of the old units, tiles and appliances, with rubble disposal.
  • New water supply and waste pipes, connections for the sink, dishwasher and washing machine.
  • A new electrical circuit for the oven and hob, plus sockets and lighting.
  • Wall and floor preparation, tiling or porcelain, and painting.
  • Units, either modular or made to measure.
  • Worktop in laminate, compact, quartz or porcelain.
  • Sink, tap, extractor hood and appliances.
  • Installation, adjustment and final clean.

The lower end of the range covers a straightforward replacement in the same layout with modular units. The upper end covers a new layout, a large island, stone or porcelain worktops and premium appliances. See full renovation prices for other works.

Our process

  1. Visit. We measure, check the existing installations and talk through how you use the kitchen.
  2. Layout and quote. We propose a layout and send a fixed, itemised quote.
  3. Choosing finishes. Units, worktop, tiles and appliances, chosen in a showroom or remotely by photos and video call.
  4. Paperwork. Declaración responsable or licence with the town hall, and a word with the community administrator if you live in a block.
  5. Works. Plumbing and electrics first, then walls and floors, then units and worktop.
  6. Handover. Everything is tested with you and the documented final review is issued.

Kitchens that suit the Alicante climate

  • Worktops that handle heat and sun. Quartz and porcelain hold up well in bright, warm kitchens.
  • A proper extractor hood, ducted outside where possible, especially in open-plan layouts.
  • Storage for holiday lets. Durable, easy-clean units and simple appliances make life easier for guests and cleaners.

Licences and your community of owners

Replacing a kitchen without touching walls is generally processed by declaración responsable or licencia de obra menor at the Ayuntamiento. Removing a load-bearing wall is a structural change that needs a technical project and a licencia de obra mayor. In a block of flats, extractor ducts through the facade or shared walls may need the agreement of the comunidad de propietarios. We check all of this before we quote, so the plan is realistic from the start.

Renovating from abroad or between rental seasons

If you are buying a resale apartment, a visit before you commit gives you a realistic idea of what the kitchen will cost to bring up to standard. If you rent the property out, we can schedule the works for the quieter months so it is ready again before the summer. Owners who live abroad approve the design remotely and receive regular photo and video updates.

Frequently asked questions

Can you knock through to make an open-plan kitchen?

Often, yes. First we check whether the wall is load-bearing. Removing a non-structural partition is usually handled with a declaración responsable or licencia de obra menor, while structural changes need a technical project and a licencia de obra mayor. We handle the paperwork either way.

Can I supply my own kitchen units or appliances?

Yes. We can supply the full kitchen, or fit units and appliances you have bought yourself. The quote shows clearly what is included so there are no surprises.

Can I choose my kitchen from abroad?

Yes. We share layouts, finishes and samples by photo and video call, and your project manager sends photo and video updates while the work goes on. You only need to visit if you want to.
